Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Philosophie - Theoretische (Erkenntnis, Wissenschaft, Logik, Sprache), Note: 2,0, FernUniversität Hagen (Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Massenmedien versprechen Aufklärung über Herstellung und Vermarktung von Lebensmitteln mit deskriptiven und zugleich persuasiven Texten. Darüber hinaus werben die jeweiligen Veröffentlichungen mit einer Auseinandersetzung mit den moralischen Vorbehalten, die viele Verbraucher bewegen. Es werden Handlungsempfehlungen versprochen. Diese Intention verfolgt auch der in "Geo kompakt" erschienene Report "Die Indust-rie, die uns satt macht". Diesen Text als Grundlage heranziehend, befasst sich die hier vorliegende Arbeit mit der alltagsrhetorischen Darstellung sehr komplexer wirtschaftlicher Zusammenhänge, wie sie in der Lebensmittelindustrie aufzufinden sind. Hierbei soll geklärt werden, welches Auditiorium die Zeitschrift hat und wie die Verfasser dieses charakterisieren, inwieweit die Verfasser in Erscheinung treten und vor allem, wie argumentiert wird. Bei genauerer Betrachtung der Argumentationsstruktur zeigt sich, dass die Berichterstattung sehr oberflächlich ist und ein erforderlicher Diskurs, aus dem Handlungsempfehlungen resultieren könnten, nicht stattfindet. Letzterer Punkt soll am Beispiel der im Text genannten Kinderarbeit verdeutlicht werden. Ein großes Problem des Reports liegt in der mangelnden Definition von Begriffen, auf denen die Argumentation basiert. Es sind Fehlschlüsse vorhanden. Auf das Heran-ziehen von Autoritäten, welche den Leser von den Hauptargumenten überzeugen könnten, wird weitgehend verzichtet. Darüber hinaus wird der Rezipient durch die Verwendung einer vorbelasteten, stark wertenden Sprache auf einer emotionalen Ebene angesprochen, die einer rationalen Auseinandersetzung mit den angeschnit-tenen Problemfeldern entgegenwirkt.
