Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Interkulturelle Kommunikation, Note: 1,0, Technische Hochschule Köln, ehem. Fachhochschule Köln (Institut für Translation und Mehrsprachige Kommunikation), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Eine Bachelor-Arbeit mit Medienbezug zu schreiben, war für mich ein wichtiges Anliegen. Ich wollte ein Thema bearbeiten, das mich persönlich interessiert und sich außerdem in meinen bisherigen Werdegang eingliedern lässt. Seit sieben Jahren arbeite ich im Medienbereich und konnte so bisher einen sehr differenzierten Einblick in diese Branche erlangen. Ich finde es faszinierend, wie das Medium Fernsehen unser heutiges Leben beeinflusst, teilweise dominiert und vor allem auch strukturiert. Das Fernsehen ist weltweit das attraktivste und unumstritten meistgenutzte Freizeitmedium (vgl. Neuhauser, 2000:40). Auch wenn Menschen aller Nationen die Fernsehnutzung in ihren Lebensalltag integriert haben, gibt es viele nationale Unterschiede im Medienkonsum. Spätestens seit den 1980er-Jahren ist das Fernsehen in Frankreich wie Deutschland ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Alltagskultur. Es greift immer stärker in die Alltagsgestaltung seiner Zuschauer ein. War das TV-Gerät lange Zeit lediglich "treuer Begleiter" im Wohnzimmer, so avanciert es aktuell zum "Taktgeber" des täglichen Lebens. Das Fernsehen bietet mehr denn je Rat, Muße und Alltagsflucht per Fernbedienung (vgl. Médiamétrie-Studie, 2004). Mich interessiert aus psychologischer und soziologischer Sicht, wie Menschen in unterschiedlichen Ländern ihren Alltag gestalten. Da ich sowohl mein Auslandssemester als auch viele weitere Aufenthalte in Frankreich verbracht habe, wollte ich gerne eine vergleichende Arbeit über mein Heimatland und seinen südwestlichen Nachbarn schreiben. In Frankreich wird durchschnittlich 207 Minuten täglich ferngesehen, in Deutschland 208, das entspricht in etwa 3,5 Stunden (vgl. AGF, 2008:57). Diese Zahlen bieten auf den ersten Blick nicht viel Raum
