About the Book

The Allie Skye picture books are a contemporary, heart-warming, feel-good series about an adventurous, young girl and her love for her family all around the world. Allie Skye is a happy and friendly child who lives in Griffith, New South Wales, Australia. Although, not the outback, Griffith is a rural and regional area of Australia. Allie Skye lives with her Mummy and Daddy and is half Scottish and half Italian Australian. She loves nothing more than visiting her Nonna and Nonno at their farm where there are always lots of adventures to be had and playing with her cousins and friends. Allie Skye keeps in touch with her Scottish family by using her trusty tablet. She also has the opportunity to learn lots of new and interesting words which you'll find at the end of each book, in the Allie Skye Guide.

The Allie Skye series is planned to be a seven-book series with the first three in the series being ready to buy now. The first book in the series introduces us to present-day Allie Skye. When Daddy and Mummy tell her she will be traveling and flying by airplane to visit Nanny Scotland, she begins to worry about how homelife on the farm will compare to her family home and life in Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland in the United Kingdom. Follow her as she helps in the veggie patch and with the farming. Enjoys a barbeque with cooking by Nonno. Playing boomerang with her cousins before a walk to the creek with Nonna. By the end of the day, she can't wait to visit Scotland.

In book two, Allie Skye and Daddy are heading off on their amazing adventure to Scotland. They travel by airplane to Sydney Airport and then onto another flight, meeting an air hostess before arriving at Edinburgh Airport. Once they land, they have a journey by tram and train passing famous landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle and the Forth Railway Bridge, before they meet Nanny Scotland and drive in her car, over the sea to Skye. On their travels to the Highlands and Islands, they'll even encounter some highland cows!

In book three, Allie Skye will be getting used to life in Portree, Isle of Skye. She enjoys having the seaside outside her window, with views out to sea and across Portree to the Old Man of Storr. She'll be introduced to porridge, chasing sheep out of the garden (rather than snakes), and her Scottish cousins who'll introduce her to sports and games such as Shinty. She'll enjoy walks to the seashore where she'll skim stones with Daddy and hear stories from Nanny Scotland.

Later in this multi-national series, we will follow Allie as she travels around the Isle of Skye, building her relationships and family connections in Scotland. With her cuddly toys Wombat and Nessie and her trusty tablet secure in her Isle of Skye tartan bag, Allie Skye will visit the Fairy Pools on Skye, attend an extended family reunion in Italy, and have a unique Christmas adventure! Allie Skye will be learning lots more words in Scottish, Australian, Italian, and more, all to be noted down in her special Allie Skye's guide. We'll also be introduced to new and fun characters such as Papa, Seamus, and many more.

Allie Skye series is the perfect series for bedtime, facetime, and tablet reading for grandparents, ex-pats, blended families, and kids everywhere. Whether you are a parent reading to your child, or a grandmother or grandfather reading to your granddaughter or grandson, you'll have lots of fun looking up words in the Allie Skye guide.
