Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Mediengeschichte, Note: 1,7, Philipps-Universität Marburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: [...] Nach Beendigung des zweiten Weltkrieges etablierten sich neben Sammlungen auch Ausstellungen von filmspezifischen Objekten. Hierbei sind die Tätigkeiten von Henri Langlois, Mitbegründer der Cinémathèque française, hervorzuheben, der mit zahlreichen Ausstellungen für Furore sorgte. Robinson (2006: 242) beschreibt Langlois` 1948 ins Leben gerufene Dauerausstellung als "living museum where the cinema´s history was vital, personal, present", deren Erfolg maßgeblich zur Expansion der Filmmuseen seit den 1960er Jahren beigetragen haben dürfte. Fortan haben sich Filmmuseen und -archive als gesellschaftlich wertvolle Einrichtungen einen festen Platz erarbeitet; ihre Prinzipien, die eine klare Rollenverteilung zwischen Produzent und Konsument vorsahen und die Interaktivität von Letzterem minimierten, waren lange Zeit unumstritten. Dies scheint sich jedoch im Zuge des endgültigen Durchbruchs der digitalen Medien wie dem Internet dramatisch zu ändern: "Aus passiven Konsumenten werden höchst aktive Produzenten" (Hornig 2007: 8). In diesem Zusammenhang ist die 2005 gegründete Plattform YouTube hervorzuheben, die sich besonders wegen einer Demokratisierung der Produktionsverhältnisse binnen kürzester Zeit etablierte und die traditionellen Einrichtungen vor erhebliche Probleme stellen kann: "The YouTube model is questioning the very raison d'être of film archives and museums in their current form" (Cherchi Usai in Cherchi Usai u.a. 2008: 214). Diese Behauptung führt zu der Frage, ob die beiden Institutionen aufgrund von Veränderungsprozessen langfristig überhaupt noch bestehen können - und falls ja, wie Konzepte für die Zukunft aussehen könnten. In der folgenden Hausarbeit gehe ich dieser Fragestellung nach. Zunächst widme ich mich grundlegenden Museumsprinzipien, außerdem erläutere ich etablierte Aufgaben von Filmmuse
