About the Book

A principios de la década de 1990 la alimentación electrónica de las lámparas de alta intensidad de descarga, y en general de todas las lámparas de descarga, era un campo de investigación de gran interés. Hoy en día, la alimentación de descargas eléctricas sigue siendo de gran utilidad práctica, en aplicaciones como generación de radiación UV, separación electrostática, equipos de soldadura, generación de ozono, entre otros. Para la optimización de los sistemas de alimentación de este tipo de cargas es necesario tanto el estudio y ensayo de topologías de potencia adecuadas, como el conocimiento del comportamiento de la propia lámpara, con el objetivo de conseguir una perfecta simbiosis entre ambos elementos. En el presente trabajo doctoral se realizan algunas aportaciones dentro de este campo de investigación, que permitan aproximarse hacia la optimización de estos sistemas. Se persiguen dos objetivos perfectamente diferenciados. El primero encaminado hacia el estudio y ensayo de las lámparas de alta intensidad de descarga, consistente en la recopilación bibliográfica de información sobre el comportamiento de las lámparas, junto con la realización de ensayos eléctricos y fotométricos, y el desarrollo de modelos de lámparas para simulación por ordenador. El segundo dirigido hacia la búsqueda y el estudio riguroso de una topología de alimentación y un método de control de la misma óptimos, junto con el desarrollo de una metodología de diseño adaptada al comportamiento de la carga. Muchos de los conceptos e ideas investigadas en este trabajo continúan siendo de aplicación en la actualidad.Contenidos. Capítulo 1: Introducción. Estado actual y tendencias futuras en la alimentación de lámparas de alta intensidad de descarga. Capítulo 2: Comportamiento eléctrico de las lámparas de alta intensidad de descarga. Modelos de lámparas para simulación por ordenador. Capítulo 3: Topologías de inversores adecuadas para la alimentación de lámparas de alta intensidad de descarga. Capítulo 4: Análisis en régimen permanente del inversor resonante CM-LCC. Evoluciones temporales. Operación en régimen permanente. Operación en vacío y cortocircuito. Ábacos de diseño. Capítulo 5: Diseño e implementación del inversor CM-LCC controlado por corriente resonante. Estudio de variaciones en el punto de funcionamiento de la lámpara. Ejemplo de diseño para una lámpara de vapor de mercurio de alta presión de 125 W. Ejemplo de diseño para una lámpara de vapor de sodio de alta presión de 150 W.
