About the Book

Download for FREE with Kindle Unlimited This is a 8,000 words CLEAN stand-alone story with an HEA, so no cliff-hangers! Carlie Weymeyer, an Austin school psychologist, is totally immersed in her career. When a series of lucid and bizarre dreams lead Carlie to suspect she's a victim of alien abduction, she takes a leave-of-absence from work to recover from her personal trauma at her father's remote fishing lodge near Wapiti, Wyoming. She vaguely remembers delivering a baby somewhere in Austin, midwived by an assistant who was not human, and later, lovemaking with a handsome man she's never actually met. Microscopic surgical scars on her lower abdomen, her only proof of a Cesarean delivery, recede within days. Carlie wants put the entire ordeal behind her, but this involuntary enmeshment appears yet unfinished. A sub-class of Zeta Reticulans from the planet Ulysses want her presence and developmental guidance for their future leader, her alien baby. And the handsome stranger she's previously known only in her dreams, alien abductee and Wyoming native Ridge Lackland, comes walking into her waking life. ---------------------------------------------------------- EXCERPT FROM BOOK Movement licking just under the water's surface a few yards away looked like a promising spot, and Carlie steadied her stance, waiting quietly. Sure enough, the golden gills of a fifteen-pound teener brown leapt out of the stream several yards away, ten feet or higher into the air. She smiled, tying up the next hopper fly on her line. What she did not expect was to see the same fish leap again, this time just inches in front of her. The rowdy trout plunged into the water, splattering her front bib with a shock of cold. Carlie giggled in surprise. Not an altogether unusual event, this was the first time she'd been finned this close. Up yours, too, she thought. No sooner than it was done, the stream was quiet again-for the moment. Carlie looked down into the water, something about its routine turbulence falling off just a bit. At first, she couldn't place it, what she sensed about her going terribly wrong in this water. Then, she realized. The water, the entire tributary around her, was flowing backward. Carlie felt its shift the instant she looked down. She gasped. An onslaught of trout mobbed around her legs, slapping her waders, mouths gobbling at her thighs. "Jesus H. Christ," Carlie shouted, terror rising to her throat. The back surge of the current around her soldered her to the spot; she could not lift her feet. An icy gust of air swirled up her back, whipping her bucket hat off her head. Undulating blue light flashed from behind her, its glowing reflection on the water indicating something quite tall. She finally managed to suck her right boot out of the riverbank and took a step backward. With that, the gang of trout peeled away as quickly as they had come, the Laramie aright and flowing north once again. Carlie followed the eddying globules of blue light as far as her peripheral vision would allow. Her spine felt like she'd just backed into a block of ice. Carlie slowly looked over her shoulder and turned around. We are genus reticulatis of Procyonian order who travel through time, we are genus reticulatis of Procyonian order who travel- Carlie screamed. The words mashed through .... AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a stand-alone story with an HEA, so no cliff-hangers! Story contains mature themes and language, and is intended for 18+ readers only.
