This is a True Story of an immigrant boy who came from a third world country. Alberto became one of the top three (3) students to represent his elementary school in math competition shortly after having arrived to the United States of America.

Alberto Villarreal came from El Salvador. Alberto was born in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador.

Alberto scored a 10th grade level on his 6th grade middle school exam. Alberto was selected to represent his high school at an All-Star Band audition at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Alberto made the cut and marched for the Thanksgiving Parade. Alberto as a 9th grader along his high school drumline was selected to play cadences for the President of the United States of America in Houston, Texas.

Alberto Villarreal was also featured on the cover page of his high school newspaper in the December edition in the 12th grade.

Alberto went on to win high school's Most Prestigious Award from the school district, The Board of Education Award--First Runner-Up. One of only seven students to receive that Prestigious Award.
