TRAMA:

Los protagonistas de esta historia son dos pájaros: Chiloé el albatros, el pájaro más grande del mundo y Didí la colibrí, la pajarilla más pequeña del mundo.

Ambos comparten un rasgo en común: el enorme deseo por descubrir lugares nuevos, aunque cada uno lo vive y manifiesta de manera diversa. El albatros ve el mundo desde lo alto del cielo observando la belleza en su totalidad, deseando volar siempre más alto en busca de panoramas asombrosos, sin pararse a apreciar la maravilla de los pequeños detalles que esconde la tierra; la pequeña colibrí en cambio adora el espectacular y diminuto paraíso en el que vive, pero desea fuertemente poder volar en el cielo, probar el sabor de las nubes y ver el mar desde lo alto, aunque es consciente de que su cuerpecillo no se lo permite.

Sus caminos se cruzan cuando Chiloé, en uno de sus largos viajes migratorios, ve desde lo alto la pequeña isla verde esmeralda donde vive Didí y decide bajar a tierra para descansar un poco. En este particular encuentro el albatros, gracias a la alegría y simpatía de la pequeña colibrí, descubre la belleza de los pequeños detalles y de cómo el mundo allí abajo es igualmente maravilloso e infinito. Para agradecerle la oportunidad que le ha dado, regala a Didí el sueño de volar alto en el cielo, más allá de las nubes, haciéndole probar el sabor que tanto deseaba y dándole la posibilidad de observar el mar desde allí arriba. Y juntos realizan este sueño, como sucede a menudo en la vida.

Desde lo alto el mundo no tiene fronteras, no existen banderas ni divisiones y el color de las plumas y la grandeza del cuerpo no crea diferencias, sino que une las vidas llenándolas de maravillosos colores.

OBEJTIVOS DE LA HISTORIA:

Una historia contra el racismo, que nos lleva a considerar la diversidad no como un obstáculo sino como una oportunidad que en la vida nos permite alcanzar los objetivos y los sueños deseados, aunque estén muy lejos de nuestras propias capacidades. Una historia que habla de la fuerza de los sueños y de la unión, valiosos estímulos para el crecimiento personal, recordando al lector el valor de la confianza y la importancia de saber siempre "ver más allá".

En el libro, además de describir las acciones de los dos personajes, se habla de los sentimientos e ideas que se manifiestan en las diversas situaciones, concediéndoles un papel muy importante en el desarrollo de los acontecimientos.

El léxico utilizado, aun siendo adecuado al grupo de edad al que va dirigido, en ocasiones es muy particular, estudiado con la intención de estimular la capacidad de reflexión y el aprendizaje de nuevos términos en los más jóvenes, posiblemente ayudados por la explicación de un adulto. En el texto se encuentran numerosos juegos de palabras, mediante combinaciones, asonancias y significado de las frases, con la intención de que cada joven lector interprete y haga suyo cada pequeño pasaje de la historia. Aparecen también pequeñas poesías, onomatopeyas, diálogos y descripciones, narradas con lenguaje vivaz y agradable que cautiva y llena de ritmo la historia. Es un libro que contiene muchas ilustraciones destinadas a favorecer la comprensión de la trama y el desarrollo de la imaginación.
