In 1993 they all live, love and play in L.A., thinking they were in control of their own destinies, but due to certain chance meetings and 4 degrees of separation, something they never expected is coming. The series will unfold over a span of many years; 4 people, 4 stories, 1 crossroad and their lives will never be the same again!Radical circumstances occur in each of the character's lives which are indicative of the times in which we live. Incidents of racism, police profiling and harassment, drug abuse the occult, promiscuity, mental health homosexuality in the military and Aids are just a few of the topics that are touched upon in this poignant story. The human phenomenon however proves true to form as each of the characters are again and again tested with morals and their perceptions of a Higher Power. Their individual, as well as collective stories can be easily identified with millions of personalities around the world. In the end, the choices they make are significant ones, and the reader will have been highly entertained. Ah Men.
About the Author: A native of Los Angeles, Letitia Richard became interested in the performing arts at an early age. She attended a summer program, Inner City Cultural Center, to focus on vocal, tap dancing, the clarinet and piano. As a member in both the acting departments Play Production and Vocal Ensemble, she was encouraged by her high school guidance counselor to enter a series of city-wide writing competitions. The Dream Lives, a poetic tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr., won her first place, a college scholarship and her first published work in 1983. Affectionately called, Tsha, by her enormous extended family and those who know her best, she also won a scholarship and was crowned "Queen" for her participation in the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., Presentation Debutant Ball of 1982. After attending California State University at Long Beach, she began a career in Sales, Marketing and Advertising, but remains a Singer, Writer, Actress in her heart. For many years she sang with various local bands, including one version of The Marvelettes Music Review. Just for fun, she signed on as an extra in the hit movie, "Bringing Down The House," starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah. Attracted to all genres of the written word, she's compiled over 100 original poems, plays, short stories, song lyrics and much more, having recited her prose in poetry venues around the country. Her other areas of interest are traveling, admiring nature in all its glory, and a special affinity towards animals and their plight. Drawing on the many interesting stories she's heard during her travels, as well as her own experiences, Ah Men is the 1st of a 4 book series on the entertaining characters she has so vividly brought to life. When she's not writing, you can usually find Letitia exploring any one of the islands in the Caribbean.
