Berichte über Aggressionen in der Schule häufen sich und Forschungsergebnisse der letzten Jahre bestätigen eine Zunahme der Gewalt unter Schülern. Es gibt umfangreiche Veröffentlichungen, die sich mit dieser Thematik auseinandersetzen. Wenn man aggressive Verhaltensweisen vermindern will, muss man zunächst die Ursachen von Aggressivität aufzeigen und die Faktoren herausstellen, die aggressive Verhaltensweisen begünstigen können. Der erste Teil der Arbeit gibt einen Überblick über unterschiedliche Formen, Auftretenshäufigkeiten sowie Geschlechterunterschiede von Aggression als Form kindlicher Verhaltensauffälligkeit. Es sind unterschiedliche Erklärungsmodelle für aggressive Verhaltensweisen dargestellt. Da das Kind in seiner Entwicklung vielschichtigen Einflüssen unterliegt, sind die Faktoren, die die Entstehung und Aufrechterhaltung aggressiven Verhaltens begünstigen, erläutert. In einem weiteren Kapitel wird prosoziales Verhalten klassifiziert. Die Bedingungen und die Entwicklung prosozialer Verhaltensweisen finden Erläuterung. Anschließend sind unterschiedliche Präventions- und Interventionsansätze, die versuchen die verschiedenen Faktoren in der Umgebung des Kindes positiv zu beeinflussen, vorgestellt. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Training zum Abbau aggressiven und zur Förderung prosozialen Verhaltens. Das Training ist vorgestellt und beschrieben. Die Inhalte der einzelnen Stunden und Übungen sind dargestellt. Zur Effektüberprüfung wurde ein Beobachtungsbogen für aggressive und prosoziale Verhaltensweisen und ein Beobachtungsbogen zur Trainingsmitarbeit der Kinder herangezogen.
