Bruce Rollin is in the emergency room, fighting for his life after being in a horrific car accident. The doctors are frantically trying to resuscitate him as his heart stops numerous times.
He watches it all from above. So confused, wondering why he is in an operating room. He thinks this is just another strange dream. Then he starts floating about in the hospital. He sees his friends and family sitting in the waiting room. They are all so sad. His mother is also here and crying uncontrollably.
Bruce starts to recall glimpses of the car accident. Then he realizes he was the one on the operating room table, and his family is here for him. He realizes they don't even know he is here, standing right in front of them. Looking down at his hand, it's almost translucent. He has no clue what is happening, and this must be a strange dream.
He sees an older man who is also translucent. Bruce yells out to him, "What is happening!". The old man heard him and replied. "I think we are here to say goodbye," kneeling in front of his wife, trying to hold her hand. At that moment, Bruce knows that he has died. The dream suddenly becomes a horrible nightmare.
A brilliant white light blinds Bruce. He feels a burning pain in his chest. His body violently jolts as if struck by lightning. Opening his eyes, he is back on the operating table again in horrific pain.
While recovering in the hospital, Bruce discovers the strange dreams were not dreams. He had an out-of-body experience. It changes his life. Now, he has a new quest in life to understand his near-death experiences and life after death. He stumbles upon the truth of the afterlife, reincarnation, the well of souls, and the creation of the human race.
