Adult Life Skills for Children is a great book for children to read themselves and for parents, teachers, youth workers, social workers to ensure that they have covered all basics with the children in their care. Growing up is not easy, but most of us do, more or less, successfully. Scooter lives with his family including his grandpa, who is a behavioural scientist. Grandpa tells them about how to deal with criticism, goal setting, time management, anger, stress, how to relax and much, much more. All adult life skills. Grandpa always says 'here comes the science' when he begins his stories.
Part 2 is a workbook that you can use to work on some of the techniques to help you to be the best you can be and to understand more about yourself so that you can make better choices about how to live your life. This is an incredible book involving Scooter's family that can help you to become happier and mentally healthier.
"This is more than just a book, it is a valuable tool that can be very useful in teaching children and young people valuable lessons. Simple, effective and easy to use."
Lukasz Konieczka - Greater London Youth Foundation
"Someone should have read this to me when I was a kid. This book respects children's intelligence and tackles serious issues, that are only too familiar, in an imaginative, fun way that directly reflects a young person's everyday experiences."
Nev Akrode - School Teacher
"I would recommend this book to anyone working with young people to support them with the challenges that come with adolescent years. This book teaches young people conflict resolution, resilience and the importance of good self-esteem. The book is also a great reflective tool for parents to think about how they speak to their young people and the impact their words and actions have!"
