Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Pädagogische Psychologie, Note: 1,3, Technische Universität Dortmund, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Abschlussarbeit des Lehramtsstudiengangs für die Primarstufe soll Aufschluss darüber geben, welche wissenschaftlich-theoretischen Erkenntnisse über das Aufmerksamkeitsdefizitsyndrom (ADS) bestehen und wie unmittelbar Betroffene dieses Phänomen im Alltag wahrnehmen. Die Aufmerksamkeitsstörung bei Kindern ist keineswegs ein Problem der heutigen Zeit, sondern sie wurde schon im 19. Jahrhundert von dem Kinderpsychiater Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann in der Geschichte vom "Struwwelpeter" thematisiert. Seine Schilderungen von einem sehr temperamentvollen, und vor Energie strotzenden Kind spiegeln die Merkmale einer ADS wider. Galt das Verhalten damals noch als ungewöhnlich, aber nicht als "krankhaft", ist es mittlerweile als wesentliche Störung anerkannt, die in der Öffentlichkeit heftig, kontrovers und überaus emotional diskutiert wird. Es hat den Anschein, dass sich inzwischen bei manchen Menschen ein vermeintlich nur "außergewöhnlicher Wesenszug" etabliert hat, der in Wirklichkeit aber ihre Fähigkeiten beeinträchtigt, und dass vor allem die Anzahl der ADS-Kinder stetig anwächst. Mir bot sich im Rahmen meines Studiums die Möglichkeit, an einer Selbsthilfegruppe für Eltern von ADS- Kindern teilzunehmen. Dabei hatte ich das erste Mal die Gelegenheit, im direkten Kontakt mit betroffenen Eltern mehr über ihre Sorgen und Probleme zu erfahren. Der Fragebogen für Lehrer und Eltern, den ich für diese Studie entwickelt habe, wird daher die Probleme dieser beteiligten Personen intensiv berücksichtigen. Um eine empirische Untersuchung durchzuführen, der eine Befragung vorausgeht, stellen die theoretischen Grundlagen eine Basis dar. Aus diesem Grunde werde ich nach Klärung von Begrifflichkeiten eine Übersicht über die theoretischen Grundlagen geben. Hier wird genau beschrieben, wie sich die Störung bei den Kindern zeigt
