About the Author: Silverio Pérez es escritor, orador motivacional, cantante, músico, compositor, ingeniero químico, y padre de cinco hijos. Desde 1971 al presente es un ícono de la televisión y la radio puertorriqueña pues ha creado innumerables programas de gran éxito en ambos medios. Ha sido el libretista principal de Los Rayos Gamma, un legendario grupo de sátira política que por 30 años consecutivos ha estado activo en teatros y en la televisión. En 1975, junto a un grupo de músicos y cantantes, fundó el grupo Haciendo Punto en Otro Son, pionero del movimiento de la Nueva Canción en Puerto Rico, con el que tiene decenas de producciones discográficas. En 1998 llevó a un primer libro su concepto de Humortivación. Esta primera propuesta vendió más de 125,000 ejemplares. El segundo libro Más Humortivación sobrepasó los 50,000. En el año 2004 publicó Las tres tristes tribus, primero de una recopilación de sus ensayos periodísticos. En el 2005 sumó a su lista de "más vendidos" Domesticando tu dinosaurio, un análisis con humor de la irracionalidad y el uso de la inteligencia emocional. Humortivación... otra vez, se publicó en el 2007 y al año siguiente presentó Desde mi grúa: Manual del elector aguza'o, su segunda recopilación de ensayos. En el año 2009, publicó Prefiero ser Trovador, libro dedicado a la décima, expresión poética que el autor ha cultivado desde su juventud. En abril de 2010, la Casa de Puerto Rico en España y el Gabinete Internacional de Traducciones le otorgaron un premio a la colección de columnas publicadas entre 2008 y 2009 en el diario El Nuevo Día por ser "fortalecedoras de la conciencia nacional puertorriqueña". En el 2011 Silverio fue galardonado como Motivador y Escritor del Año de los Natural Choice Awards, premios que son otorgados por el público a personas que con su creación hacen una diferencia en la vida de otros seres humanos. En el 2012 se publicaron dos libros adicionales: Punto Decimal, de décimas escritas para el semanario Claridad entre el 2009 y el 2010, y Abracadabra, Buenas Palabras, otra obra de corte motivacional. Su décimo libro, Paso a paso por el Camino de Santiago, recoge las experiencias durante su peregrinación de 125 kilómetros por el camino Portugués desde Tui a Santiago de Compostela. Silverio proyecta publicar en el 2015 la novela Un espejo en la selva, que le ganó una distinción durante la defensa de su tesis de Maestría en Creación Literaria de la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón en San Juan, Puerto Rico.
