Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it! (Luke 11:28)
If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. (John 8:31)
We can avoid a lot of heartache and stress when we follow God's instructions, and that in itself blesses us.
Other promises for following God's instructions relate to securing our position in the family of God:
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord, ' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
"For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother." (Matthew 12:50)
As we can see from the Scriptures, the instructions and promises of God are both necessary to prepare us for blessings here on earth and our home in heaven. The section entitled "His Blessings for Your Obedience" is dedicated to some of these life-giving instructions.
