Este libro tiene una característica que no muchos tienen, y es que trae unas indicaciones previas de como está constituido o de cómo fue construido por su autor. Esto devela de entrada dos cosas, pero seguramente hay muchas más que el lector irá descubriendo en su lectura. Esas dos cosas son, primero que el libro lo exige, porque sino pasaría como un mero ejercicio sin invención ni fundamento; la otra es que, sin separar una de la otra, juego y matemática, parecieran ponerse de acuerdo para dar con un nuevo tipo de lector, más creativo que asimilativo, menos pasivo y más activo, sugerente, más abierto que cerrado.

Como se te propone lo vas leyendo como un largo y extenso poema que intenta todos los registros imaginarios y reales, de géneros literarios y visuales, que junta el más exquisito lenguaje con el habla popular, en este caso, el maracucho, que identifica el lar nativo del poeta. Pero, resulta que el poema se te revela y rebela y va creciendo y ensanchándose como en espiral en diversos poemas y no sólo uno. Te encuentras con la posibilidad que puedes leer el libro no sólo como se te indica sino como se te ocurra. Puedes en verdad constatar la verdadera función del verso libre, pues éste te invita, a ti, lector, a liberarte.

Es una escritura poliedrica. Por el ángulo, de los tantos que sugiere, le entres, siempre te vas a encontrar con la posibilidad de lo convencional desbordada. Imágenes por la metáfora, imágenes por la relación verbal que proyecta una palabra a otra. Como dije, verso libre y nunca de más, escritura aforistica, chanza, broma, ironía, exhortación, anuncio, pinta callejera o, belleza, sencilla y para nada elocuente belleza. Rica conjunción, dada por el poeta Carlos Ildemar Pérez a manera de síntesis artística, me recuerda a Marcel Duchamp. Como en éste, Pérez hace confluir un sin fin de ideas, incluso de todos los tiempos, movimientos y autores. Su logro está en que no los expresa como cita o imitación, y a penas lo evidencia, a ese lector que busca, el lector creador, quien en fin hará su propio poema. "El arte es producido por una sucesión de individuos que se expresan a si mismos, no es cuestión de progreso./ El progreso es simplemente una enorme presunción de nuestra parte". Esto dejó dicho Duchamp y en estás páginas se cumple en un doble sentido: de asimilación y de ruptura. ¿Podemos afirmar entonces que estamos ante un poema-objeto? Un poema que puede ser llevado, conducido, rehecho por su receptor; pero que a su vez impone su laboriosa construcción y sus inflexiones verbales no se quedan en la mera representación.

Ya desde sus primeros libros, Carlos Ildemar Pérez, se nos revelaba con voz propia y con un estilo que siempre excede al libro escrito, y busca incidir en un contacto más cercano con el receptor, esto debido a su dedicación como actor, dramaturgo y titiritero. Cuando la mayoría de los poetas buscan al creador en sí mismos, Pérez lo busca fuera. También está su disciplinada formación universitaria, contribuyendo a crear cátedras y talleres libres de poesía en la Universidad del Zulia; todo esto sin abandonar su propia obra, la cual ya suma varios títulos y ha sido reconocida en certámenes literarios nacionales y extranjeros, al igual que recibir un merecido reconocimiento critico.
