An autobiographical memoir of my childhood, honoring both my late Mother as well as my late Nephew, penned as an open letter to my Father. This is my healthy personal perspective of two broken children marrying one another, having two children of their own and trying to navigate the responsibilities of raising a Family without the proper tools that are necessary for the most successful outcome. This book is both a cautionary tale as well as a guide to true self love. In order to discover who you are you must re-visit your childhood to unpack your unaddressed trauma.
You'll then be able to better understand and forgive your parents for not giving you the tools that they weren't given. You'll then learn to have empathy for every single human being on earth. You'll then be able to forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know. You'll then learn to live and love the true authentic version of yourself without apologies to anyone. This is when you will meet your Purpose, you'll also stop asking for Permission.
This book was born out of necessity, starting as a simple letter that I decided to write to my Father. It outlines my healing, in real time, throughout the tumultuous Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020.
I'm extremely proud of this project and the beautifully painful process of unpacking my childhood trauma. I feel that so many other beautiful souls in our World will find this content useful, as a guide to assist them on their own individual healing journey.
It isn't solely about coming to terms with growing up in a single parent household. It's mostly about confronting yourself, your demons, your past then getting to a place of acceptance and forgiveness. Your first priority in this life is to figure out who you are by unpacking your life's story in a healthy way, then healing your traumas by living the most fulfilling life possible, discovering your gifts and walking in your purpose.
This art is needed. It's necessary in the ecosystem and I'm grateful to God for gifting me with the writing skills, the creativity and the honor of perspective.
This entire process was extremely healing for me, as I now feel that a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I pray that you find it healing for you as well.
