About the Book

"25 Years of Drama, Volume 2" is a collection of full length and one-act plays suitable for community theaters around the world. These plays have entertained audiences for more than two decades by providing a comical and touching look at the world and the people we share our lives with. "Thanksgiving on Serendipity Lane'" A Three-Act Comedy: George and Jane get settled into their new house on Serendipity Lane just in time to invite his mother and their grown children over to celebrate Thanksgiving. But, when Jane asks each family member to share a serendipitous event from their recent lives, she gets more than she bargained for. Share this hilarious holiday comedy with the most dysfunctional family in the USA, and you'll never view Thanksgiving the same again. "With This Ring'" A Three-Act Comedy: His approaching 'make or break' sales presentation and his daughter's impending wedding are more than Robert can handle. Add a mystical ring that changes the gender perspective of whoever wears it-and have it get stuck on Robert's finger-and comedy abounds! "The Case of the Fatal Farewell", A Three-Act Murder/Mystery: A long-absent husband returns to his wife and their hobby farm, only to be murdered the very next day. The list of suspects includes the wife, the neighbor, the family attorney, the wife's childhood friend and a simple-minded farmhand. This fast-paced murder mystery-with all the twists and turns of a classic Perry Mason episode-will keep you guessing until the very end. But whoever the murderer turns out to be, the old saying remains true. You can never go home. "The Hopeful Hearts Dating Club of Oconto", A Three-Act Comedy/Drama: How do you 'heat up' a small town in northeast Wisconsin in January? Circulate flyers announcing "Lucky Couple to Win Free Honeymoon Cruise" to all of the eligible females, add a June deadline, then simply sit back and watch the fun begin! "Adamantine", A One-Act Drama: At what point is there no chance for a 'second chance'? When can we afford to turn a deaf ear to apologies and explanations? When can we be certain that it's time to let go . . . time to move on? At what point does love die, or can it last forever? We may never know. "Double Engagement", A One-Act Comedy: When Kate (a 29-year-old graphic artist) and Kathy (a 19-year-old college student) accidentally meet at a coffee shop, they decide to share a table and some conversation. While they wait for the arrival of their fiancés, they uncover striking similarities between the two men they are set to marry. In fact, the similarities are uncanny. Trisha, their waitress, overhears their conversation and suggests the obvious-they are engaged to the same man. Both Kate and Kathy are quick to disagree with Trisha. After all, if they were marrying the same man, they'd be the first to know it . . . wouldn't they? "Clean Linen", A Ten-Minute Drama: Witness a quick glimpse into love-into holding on, and letting go-and realizing that the heart will forever have a mind of its own.
About the Author: Kathy Campshure is a 'tried and true' country girl who was born, raised, and continues to live in Northeast Wisconsin. In addition to writing dramatic stage plays, she also dabbles in writing fantasy/paranormal romance novels under the pen name of K.C. Berg. Her plays have been performed at: The Atlantic Stage in Myrtle Beach, SC; Love Creek Productions, New York City; Green Bay Community Theater, Green Bay, WI; Mielke Arts Theatre, Shawano, WI; and The Machickanee Players, Oconto, WI. She grew up long before the age of cellphones and personal computers, and spent most of her time helping out on her parent's farm, but that didn't prevent her from her main goal-which was to become a writer. She graduated cum laude from Lawrence University in 1983, where she received the Mary. E. Morton scholarship for a fictional story titled "Bonds" (which just happened to focus on assisting a cow with a difficult calving). Now, with the farm and her childhood far behind her-but not forgotten-she devotes her time to creating stories that touch the human heart and show us that dreams exist in all of us . . . we need only believe.
