About the Book
"2016: World Peace Writings" is a collection of over 500 nonfiction essays written, compiled and edited by U.S. author Jerry Alatalo. The writings will become appreciated in particular by those people interested in an interdisciplinary studies approach, which quite possibly includes every man, woman and child on Earth. In contrast to most authors' books which focus through a narrow window or scope of intellectual exploration, often concentrating on a single discipline, "2016: World Peace Writings" establishes a comprehensive perspective utilizing close to as wide a range of topics as possible. Foremost, the book places side-by-side philosophical and spiritual writings next to more standard or traditional news-style reports on extremely relevant, major world events. Readers are given another, valuable perspective too often entirely excluded from debates and discussions in the halls of governments, corporate offices or high-powered media newsrooms. Readers will surely determine for themselves the extent to which such an interdisciplinary writing/book creation approach is powerful, positive and effective in bringing about real evolutionary change for people living now, and future generations. Among the many relevant topics discussed in "2016: World Peace Writings", the following receive the most attention: 1) Syria, 2) Ukraine, 3) September 11, 2001 - 9/11, 4) Saudi Arabia, 5) Iran, 6) Palestine, 7) the International Monetary Fund, 8) the World Bank, 9) Wealth inequality, 10) ISIS - Daesh, 11) the Near death experience (NDE), 12) Austerity, 13) International law, 14) Israel-Palestine, 15) Gaza, 16) Tax havens, 17) Libya, 18) Mother Earth, 19) Qatar, 20) the Iraq War, 21) the Vietnam War, 22) the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), 23) the United Nations, 24) Genetically modified organisms (GMO), 25) Monetary reform, 26) the International Criminal Court (ICC), 27) the Occupy movement, 28) Public banking, 29) Nuclear weapons, 30) Investigative journalism, 31) Greece, 32) BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), 33) Renewable energy, 34) Peace on Earth, and more. Among the men and women noted in "2016: World Peace Writings", the following individuals receive attention, some as historical figures having an influence on the author's worldview, and others who influenced world affairs during the 2013-late 2015 period when the essays were written: 1) Barack Obama, 2) Mahatma Gandhi, 3) Martin Luther King Jr., 4) George W. Bush - Dick Cheney, 5) Bill and Hillary Clinton, 6) Bernie Sanders, 7) John F. Kennedy, 8) Vladimir Putin, 9) Benjamin Netanyahu, 10) Bashar al-Assad, 11) Viktor Yanukovych, 12) John Perkins, and more. The author wishes readers to know that at no point during the years of writing "2016: World Peace Writings" did he desire to advocate for any particular "side", that in ultimate reality there is only one side - humanity, and the sooner this highest spiritual wisdom becomes gained around the world the sooner divisive, harmful actions based on "us versus them" erroneous perceptions begin diminishing. Such a profound evolutionary process is upon humanity, it is unstoppable, and so will intensify, until finally war itself becomes simply a bad memory from mankind's unenlightened past. The author's hope for readers of "2016: World Peace Writings" is gaining greater awareness of how conditions on Earth relate to absence of total truth, honor and sincerity in words coming from leaders in government, media, corporations and other segments of societies. World peace is possible. Spirituality is the essential power, and when joined with profound truth offers the greatest tool for humanity to bring about a peaceful world. For the reasons articulated, may all who read "2016: World Peace Writings" experience greater peace wherever they reside. And may humanity, finally, experience true peace on Earth - forever.
