About the Book

The Cleveland Indians lifeline to their success will always be their farm system, and that lifeline has never been as strong as it is today. This book is a comprehensive listing of the Indians best prospects that brings to light the minor league players of today who may be the next stars of tomorrow for your Cleveland Indians. In this book you will find full scouting reports for over 125 Indians minor leaguers, complete stats and photos for over 100 players, a 2008 Draft recap, projected 2009 affiliate opening day rosters, regular season schedules for each affiliate, full transactions recap from 2008, Rule 5 Draft eligible lists for the next four years, a Rule 5 FAQ, and more! Whether or not you are a minor league diehard or a casual observer, this book is the most complete reference guide found anywhere for Indians prospect lovers as they follow the Indians minor league talent throughout the 2009 season.
About the Author: Tony was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and has lived there his entire life. He has grown up as a diehard Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, but his entire life he has been following the Cleveland Indians with a passion and deep love for baseball. He has been playing and/or following baseball since he was five years old. Over the past decade-plus that passion for baseball has permeated the minor league baseball scene. With so many affiliates and players to follow throughout the Cleveland Indians system, minor league baseball now rivals his love for Major League Baseball. About eight years ago (2003) Tony started to write about the Indians minor league system for various website and media outlets before starting his own website at IndiansProspectInsider.com. Now he mainly writes for his website and has a blog "Minor Happenings" at the Cleveland Indians cable TV network SportsTime Ohio's site STOHD.com. In addition to "Minor Happenings" he writes many daily articles on the players, transactions, news, rumors, and many other things that occur over the course of the season and offseason that have anything to do with the Cleveland Indians at the big league or minor league level. He also recently started writing for the northeast Ohio newspaper the Ashtabula Star Beacon where he does a weekly Sunday full page column as well as player features and other columns during the week. Tony is very fortunate to be able to travel around to all the Indians minor league affiliates, talking with the players themselves as well as the various Indians coaches, managers, scouts, front office executives, and coordinators in the organization. He also talks to several executives and scouts for other organizations as well. He visits every affiliate several times a year and also spends a lot of time in Arizona for both spring training and fall instructional league. You'll get no better coverage of the prospects in the Cleveland Indians' farm system and the philosophies of the organization than in Tony's book and his website. A new article is posted everyday, and you can always expect lots of prospect analysis pieces, scouting reports, interviews, news, inside information, and more.
