Vegane Ernährung wird im Kontext sportlicher Leistungsfähigkeit immer wieder kritisch hinterfragt. Eine ausreichende Zufuhr von Proteinen bzw. essenzieller Aminosäuren sowie eine Versorgung des Organismus mit essenziellen Fettsäuren und spezifischen Mikronährstoffen wird bei Veganern gerade im Bereich des Krafttrainings häufig als kritisch deklariert. Ziel dieses Buches ist es, potenzielle Mängel veganer Ernährung im Hinblick auf das Krafttraining zu widerlegen. Hierzu werden Grundsätze für einen optimalen Muskelaufbau sowohl für das Training als auch für die Ernährung herausgearbeitet und es wird analysiert, wie letzteres mittels veganer Ernährung erreicht werden kann. Einleitend vermittelte Grundkenntnisse über physiologische Prozesse im menschlichen Körper machen darauf aufbauende Trainings- und Ernährungsaspekte nachvollziehbar. Zudem wird eine spezifische Form der veganen Ernährung, die auf vollwertig pflanzlichen Lebensmitteln basiert, auf die erarbeiteten Grundsätze für optimalen Muskelaufbau untersucht. Ausgewählte Aspekte werden mit Hilfe verschiedener Studien wissenschaftlich belegt und es erfolgt stets der Bezug zur Biologie des Menschen.
About the Author: Aike Phillip de Buhr, B.A., wurde 1995 in Wilhelmshaven geboren. Sein Studium an der Universität Vechta schloss der Autor im Jahre 2018 mit dem akademischen Grad Bachelor Combined Studies in den Fächern Sport und Anglistik erfolgreich ab. Zurzeit absolviert er fortführend den Masterstudiengang für das Lehramt an Grundschulen. Nachdem er auf eine vollwertig pflanzliche Ernährung (engl. wholefoods plantbased diet) bestehend aus Obst, Gemüse, Vollkorngetreide, Hülsenfrüchten, Nüssen und Samen umstieg, wurde der Autor immer wieder mit Vorurteilen und Mythen jener im Volksmund "veganen Ernährung" konfrontiert. Auch in seinem Hobby, dem Fitness- und Kraftsport, wurde diese stets bemängelt und als leistungsmindernd verurteilt. Ebenfalls stünde die physische Gesundheit mangels jeglicher tierischer Produkte in Frage. Basierend auf seinem großen Interesse an Ernährung und deren Auswirkung auf den Körper beschloss de Buhr letztlich, diese Themen zu kombinieren, um so Vorurteile und Mythen hinsichtlich des Muskelaufbaus als Veganer wissenschaftlich genauer zu analysieren. Jahrelang angesammeltes Trainings- und Ernährungswissen sowie eine Tätigkeit als Trainer in einem Fitnessstudio motivierten den kürzlich zertifizierten Ernährungsberater, dies zum Thema seines Buches zu machen.
