About the Book

May 2, 1917. This novel breaks the historical borders of the sensational baseball game of May 2, 1917 to create a rambunctious story of the nature of our mind. On that date in history, two masters of major-league baseball pitching, Jim "Hippo" Vaughn of the Chicago Cubs and Fred Toney of the Cincinnati Reds were brought together for one of baseball's most momentous games. That distinct game remains as the solitary mountain top of achievement among all of baseball's most hallowed records. This spirited, humorous and freewheeling novel creates a mythic enchantment beyond that history. It is a bewitching tale that reflects America's madness about baseball, its passion, romance and heartbreak infused with political theatrics and personal awakening. The great Jim Thorpe, Einstein, Longchenpa, World War 1, Sigmund Freud, the madhouse city of Chicago, and President Wilson are swirling in a dust devil around the most unique baseball game in history. This 100-year anniversary edition reawakens the dramatic year of 1917 as the Chicago Cubs host the Cincinnati Reds. In the cacophony of the times, the two teams and the entire world are caught up playing - The Perfect Game.
About the Author: JC MacQueen, artist, songwriter, founder of the new religion Society of Sacred Flowers and future candidate for President of the United States. The Society of Sacred Flowers is the necessary upgrade of religion to the reality and science of the 21st century. As candidate for President, he proffers the Mandate for Legislation, which states the political agenda to clear the bigotry and fraud of the past in order to reclaim and live the American Constitution and Bill of Rights. From 1983 to 1999, his silkscreen prints were posted on the Chicago Mass Transit System (CTA), and with the aid of a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a State Agency, he installed his art work on a billboard overlooking the CTA tracks at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Franklin Street in Chicago. Previously another book, Mystery Box: the Annunciation, was published and dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the poet Jalaludin Rumi. The book blends the poetry of Nancy Fandel with the artwork of JC MacQueen. MacQueen's video, Pure Perception: God as Art, speaks to the human fabrication of God. MacQueen presented this groundbreaking video to the Religion and Spirituality in Society Conference held in Chicago in 2011. MacQueen is the songwriter and producer of Boomer Rock Music (TM) with songs such as: Little Blue Pill Baby, Don't Go Dry Holiday Man
