Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - and. Länder - Zeitalter Weltkriege, Note: 14, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Osteuropäische Geschichte), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Russland und der Alkohol. Schon seit Jahrhunderten gab es hier eine Wechselvolle Beziehung. Zum einen profitierte der russische und später der sowjetische Staat von dem Verkauf alkoholischer Getränke. Die Steuereinnahmen, die daraus generiert wurden, erhöhten die Kassen des Landes. Zum anderen kannte man die Gefahr und die zerstörerische Wirkung, die ein maßloser Konsum auf die Bevölkerung hat. Im ersten Weltkrieg wurde dann dem Wodka der Kampf angesagt. Zar Nikolaus II. verbat den Verkauf alkoholischer Getränke und schloss die Läden, die diesen vertrieben hatten. Der Hintergrund hierfür war die Befürchtung, die Soldaten würden auf dem Weg zur Front in Trinkgelage verfallen und das Land verwüsten. Was zu Beginn nur für die Zeit der Truppenaushebung gelten sollte, wurde auf die gesamte Kriegszeit ausgeweitet. Alkohol blieb verboten! Nach der erfolgreichen Oktoberrevolution in Russland gab es einen Machtwechsel in Russland. Die neue sozialistische Regierung erbte dabei dieses "trockene Gesetzt" und führte es fort. In der Ideologie der Sozialisten war der Alkohol ein Feind der Klasse der Arbeiter und Bauern. Dahinter stand die Idee, dass der Konsum alkoholischer Getränke durch die Unterschicht bewusst von der herrschenden Elite vorangetrieben wurde, um sie so an revolutionären Handlungen zu hindern. Nach dem Motto "Wer trinkt, begehrt nicht auf" sei man vorgegangen. So nahm dieses Motiv auch Einzug in die Anti-Alkoholkampagne, die im ersten Fünf-Jahresplan vorangetrieben wurde. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Motive der Antialkoholpropaganda anhand von Plakaten zu analysieren.
