Yau ChingBorn in Hong Kong, Yau Ching is a scholar, poet, and film/video artist who has written more than thirteen books, and produced and directed more than ten films/ videos. She studied in Hong Kong, New York, and London, and has taught in Hong Kong, Michian, and Taiwan. She co-founded an educational organization for sexual minorities in Hong Kong, co-founded a Sex Workers' Film Festival and a Women's Theatre Festival in Hong Kong, and the Asian Lesbian Film Festival in Taiwan. Her collections of poems in Chinese include The Impossible Home (2000), Big Hairy Egg (2011), and Pre-historic Documents (2021)), and her poems have been featured in international literary venues and publications, including World Literature Today, Asymptote, Catamaran, Transpacific Literary Project, and the Center for the Art of Translation.
