Wythe HoltFollowing his graduation from Arkansas State University, Edward B. Hicks worked for more than three decades as a newspaper advertising executive. He is coauthor of Battle of Big Bethel: Crucial Clash in Early Civil War Virginia and has edited and proided extensive research for several historical publications. For six years, he was assistant to the curator of the Hampton History Museum. Wythe Holt received a JD and a PhD in American history from the University of Virginia and taught at the University of Alabama School of Law for thirty-nine years, where he is University Research Professor of Law Emeritus. He has published several articles and books, including being the coauthor both of Battle of Big Bethel: Crucial Clash in Early Civil War Virginia and of a volume in the Arcadia Images of America series, Hampton.
