William G HerbertWilliam G. Herbert was born in Harlem to a Trinidadian father and an African-American mother. Raised in Brooklyn and South Jamaica, he attended New York City public schools. After military service as a US Army paratrooper, he earned degrees in enginering and began working as a computer scientist in the aerospace and automotive industries. A lover of the oral story-telling tradition passed to him by his family, he began a side career in travel-writing. In 2016, he published his first historical fiction novel: A Place near the Front.
