Wanda StanfillWanda Stanfill is an accomplished portrait artist and graphic designer. She is the author and illustrator of the children's book Twig and is writing her first novel. As a sculptor, she creates papier-mâché creations that are well known, and a pair ofBlue Suede Shoes is in the home of the late Grammy producer John Cossette. Wanda also created a papier-mâché sculpture of Persephone for Pat Kerr Tigrett's fashion show. Standing over 8-feet tall, the sculpture is made of recycled newspapers and materials. Wanda was commissioned in 2016 to create a bronze sculpture of Sue Shelton White, the first female attorney in Jackson and one of the suffragists who fought and won the right to vote for women. This sculpture was installed in Jackson City Hall Plaza on May 25, 2017 and is noted on the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Heritage Trail. Wanda won the 2017 Jackson Award for the Arts from West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation and the 2018 national DAR Women in the Arts Award for Tennessee, based on her portfolio of artwork. She is co-founder of the West Tennessee Artisan Trail. Wanda received the 2010 Sterling Award: 20 Most Influential Women in West Tennessee from the Jackson Area Business and Professional Women. In 2017, she received the Woman of Achievement Award from Jackson Area Business and Professional Women. A lifelong resident of West Tennessee, Wanda is married to David Stanfill and has two children, Bo Hart and Christina Hart-Warr. She is also grandmother to Ada, Austin, and Andrew.
