W Grant PeirceW. Grant Peirce IV is an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist with a passion for helping individuals and organizations succeed with integrity and purpose. Grant serves as the Founder and CEO of Peirce Group Organizational Effectiveness Consultats. Grant is the author of the Character Foundations Assessment(TM) (CFA), a tool designed to help individuals and organizations develop their fundamental character and make the conscious decisions necessary to achieve true and sustainable success. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the American Educational Research Association. Grant's interest in character began with raising his daughters. He says, At a young age, they were exposed to character education. It was amazing to see how much they connected with the Character Qualities and have used and strengthened them throughout their lives and on into their young adulthood. It's still a big part of how we communicate as a family today. After seeing the effectiveness of character education in children, Grant began to see the potential for character development in adults. Because my profession was in organizational development, I first focused on character development for business leaders. While they found developing Character Qualities through the CFA instrumental in leading their organizations, many of my clients also asked me to have their marriage partners take the CFA, so they could use the Character Qualities to help vitalize their marriages. Grant's interest in character development in couples is also inspired by his marriage. Our marriage has been an adventure, starting as young graduate students in Chicago, having children, living in China for three years, moving back to Chicago, and then to Boston. We have had some real high points and some challenges, but our focus on the Character Qualities have always kept us grounded. Couple Vitality is part of Grant's ongoing effort to bring character development to the entirety of people's lives. Our personal character affects every aspect of our lives and every relationship we have. I love to see the natural joy people receive when they exhibit a character strength or when they can entice it out of others.
