Volker KoosBorn in 1947 on the Baltic Island Rügen, Dr Volker Koos studied physics at the Rostock University. With a life-long fascination for aviation and its history he collected photos and documentary material in his private archive. Besides his professionalwork he has written a number of books and many articles about German aviation history. Living in Rostock, over the years he was lucky to meet former personnel of the Heinkel and Arado factories that were founded in the town.
