Vijayalakshmi AluriAbout The Author: Dr Vijayalakshmi Aluri is a writer of around 150 short stories, authored 4 novels, and 4 health education books-"Matrutvam"( Advices to the Pregnant women), "The story of our body", "Adolescent girls' health'"- in regional languag and "Adolescents' Health and Behavior" in English Translator of world-famous health education books from English to Telugu: "Where there is no doctor", "Where women have no doctor", and "Where there is no Psychiatrist" published by Hyderabad Book Trust and "The story of blood", "Thumpa and sparrow" and "Tortoise wins again" published by National Book Trust of India. 1,00,000 copies of 'Adolescent girls' health' were distributed to the high school, college and out of school girls with the financial assistance extended by the Govt. and non Govt. organizations. Her stories won prizes conducted by different Magazines Many of her stories and talks were broadcasted by All India Radio. Participated in Poets' meet organized by Doordarsan, Hyderabad. Wrote a column for many years in Vanitha, a magazine for women, by Chandamama group of publications, titled "Health successes". Research student, Nagarjuna University, selected Dr Aluri Vijayalakshmi's literature as her Thesis subject and got her degree. Essays titled "The impact of cinema on society", published by A.P. State Literary Academy was later included in the textbook of P.U.C., Banglore University Essay, titled "If a doctor is also a writer", was included in the textbook of B.A., Open University, Hyderabad.
