Verne LehmbergVerne Lehmberg holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Southwest Texas University and a Ph. D. in environmental engineering from Texas A&M University. He has taught college inorganic and organic chemistry, physics and environmental science. He tarted the environmental science program at Lee College, Baytown, Texas over 25 years ago and wrote the lab manual used in that course. Lehmberg integrated field studies in all his environmental science classes, ranging from local weekend trips to study carnivorous plant habitat to six-week summer field programs to the Grand Canyon, the Tetons, and Yellowstone. During the summer trips students completed the entire four-hour environmental science class in the field, including labs and written examinations. He has been a photographer for over 40 years and took all of the photos for the environmental science virtual field trips.
