Vanthay HongVanthay Hong is an immigrant from Siem Reap, Cambodia. When he first arrived in the United States, Vanthay spent many hours in the English as a Second Language classroom during third and fourth grade. From a young age, Vanthay had a passion for socce and writing. Vanthay graduated high school with honors and earned a Division I soccer scholarship. His passion for soccer led Vanthay to co-found a soccer-based nonprofit with childhood friends called Spam FC Scholarship Foundation. Its mission is to provide access and support to students pursuing post-secondary education by providing financial aid and a network of support.Vanthay is extremely proud of his mixed Khmer and other Southeast and South Asian roots.
