Toye O SmithToye O. Smith grew up under the watchful eyes of her parents, the late Ben O. Hall Sr. and Toye Lee Davis-Hall. She is the second born of four children (Gloria J. Hall, the late Ben O. Hall, Jr. and Garland Ray Hall). Toye, along with her siblings wee raised in a Christian home where they were very active in the First African Methodist Episcopal Church. Toye served as Sunday School pianist, Children's choir pianist and director and later, Minister of Music in her home church. Toye and her siblings were exposed to piano lessons, voice and diction. She attended Oklahoma City Schools, graduating from Douglass High and later studied English and fine arts at the University of Oklahoma. Toye has written many, many songs, some of which are listed in the Library of Congress. She has been happily married to Rev. R. Smith for over 40th years. Read More Read Less
