Toni Denese SturdivantDr. Sturdivant is an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction. She earned a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching with a cognate in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, she has a Master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementay Education with a specialization in Child Development and earned a BA in Linguistics with a minor in African and African American studies. After alarming findings arose from her study on how Black girls saw themselves, as evidenced through their play, she has been on a mission to support educators and parents, and anyone else that cares, in their journeys to facilitate healthy racial identities in young children.
