Tomasz Marek SobierajTomasz Marek Sobieraj is a poet, short story writer, essayist, art-and-literary critic, fine art and social documentary photographer. He was educated at Lodz University (geography, hydrology) and Lisbon University (statistics) and lectured as a specilist for a few years at the Statistical Office. Since 2000, he has published both literary-and- photographic works in various arts and letters journals in Poland and abroad. He received a fellowship from The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. His poems have been translated into English, Russian, Spanish, Danish, Kurdish, Italian, Korean, and Ukrainian. Sobieraj's photographs have been widely exhibited, and in 2013, he was nominated for his 2014 Priz Picet-The Global Award in Photography and Sustainabilty. Sobieraj's poetry has received broad and diverse critical attention. Critics have noted how his poems are written in a clear, sharp language, marked by individualistic philosophical and contemplative concerns. His last book of poems, Dwoje na wzg[rzu (The Two and the Hill) was published in 2018, and is considered his best book. A few poems from that collection are published in FOURTEEN MINUTES.
