Tom TrojaTom Troja is a lifelong creator and entrepreneur. He earned an M.A. from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and aB.A. from Boston University in History and Economics. He started his career as a cable television producer at CBS able and later, The Disney Channel, before moving on to Decker Communications, where he worked as a consultant for ten years.In 1998, Tom created and founded EmotionEngine.com. He developed a marketing performance system called emotional profiling that caught the attention of Yahoo and earned a $1M investment from Softbank-an investment that evaporated in the Dot Bomb. An early social media pioneer, he continued to develop and create "conversational marketing" and sales strategies for emerging social platforms and frequentlyspoke at iMedia Brand Summit, IAB Social, MITX and OMMA Social events on these topics.Continuing to experiment and innovate within the emerging social space, Tom founded Social Symphony in 2009 to create authentic, impactful social content for blue chip brands. Utilizing his propriety Social Archetyping(TM) (SA) system based on Carl Jung's 12 Archetypes, he drove social conversations for brands such as Jack Daniel's, Red Bull, Marriott Rewards, Chevron, Doubleday, and Western Union.In 2014, Tom suffered a massive stroke while on an airplane heading into JFK. In the aftermath, he lost it all: his business, his home, his wife, and his dog. The only way to make sense of his life was to harvest his own archetypes, just as he had with brands to articulate their identity.Tom wrote Know Yourself: A Journey from Lost to Found, as an exercise in neuroplasticity and to help others understand who they are.
