Science captured my imagination at a very early age. I can remember being asked by my first grade teacher Mrs. DuBois what I wanted to be when I grew up. I gave her a clear answer. A doctor, I said. That was the one goal that I knew of where the science rubber met the practical road of application. I have spent my career walking the edge of applied research in the dental implant field using that current research to help my patients live a higher quality of life and develop the field to an accepted practice. I became aware one day about fifteen years ago that science had advanced at an amazing rate since my days of basic science study and decided to retool by using new technology to audit courses at many prestigious universities and reading many of the scientific papers and books by these researchers.
