Thomas M SusmanThomas M. Susman, formerly Director of the ABA Governmental Affairs Office for a decade, is now at the ABA as Strategic Advisor for Global Programs and Governmental Affairs. Before joining the ABA staff, he was a partner in the Washington office of Rpes & Gray, LLP where he coordinated the firm's regulatory and legislative practice for over 27 years. He received his B.A. from Yale (1964) and his J.D. from the University of Texas (1967), and was general counsel of the Senate Judiciary Committee before entering private practice. Mr. Susman has served on the Board of Governors and in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association and is a past chair of the Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Section of the ABA. He chairs the Ethics Committee of the National Institute on Lobbying & Ethics and is a member of the American Law Institute.
