Thomas GeveThomas Geve is the pseudonym of a Jewish engineer, author, and Holocaust survivor of German descent. He was born in Stettin in 1929 and lived as a child in Beuthen, before moving to Berlin with his mother in 1939. He and his mother wre deported to Auschwitz in June 1943. He stayed there until its evacuation in January 1945, and afterward survived a death march and the Gross-Rosen and Buchenwald concentration camps, before the latter was self-liberated by the inmates in April 1945. After the war, Thomas went to a camp in Switzerland for orphaned Shoah survivors, and when his father was located, Thomas was reunited with him in England.
