Terry M IversonTerry M. Iverson is President/CEO of Iverson & Company, a machine tool distributorship and rebuilder in Des Plaines, Illinois. Terry has been calling on machine shops and manufacturing companies since 1980 primarily in the states of Wisconsin, Illinos, and Indiana. His family has a few family businesses in manufacturing-related areas. His brother, Erik, runs their company that manufactures dial indicators (mechanical and electronic). Both companies are over 92 years old. Terry's two uncles both have had sub-contract machine shops, while his father ran the company during his tenure after his grandfather founded it.Terry has spent thousands of hours canvassing the country, talking to schools, and visiting with national and local state politicians about manufacturing in America. He has served on many local high school, community, and technical college advisory boards. He has served on the TMA Education Foundation in Illinois, and the CTE Education Foundation in Washington DC, and chaired the National Visiting Committee for FLATE (Florida Advanced Technological Education Center) in Florida. Terry has also testified to the Small Business Committee of the House of Representatives, in Washington DC.Terry's wife Kathy and he have been married for 42 years after meeting each other in their junior year in high school. Both grew up in Jacksonville, Florida.He attended mechanical engineering school at both University of Wisconsin Madison and Marquette University in Wisconsin. Terry and Kathy have three adult children each married to the love of their life. They have been blessed with four grandsons now and three granddaughters. Terry coached travel soccer for 23 years, which each of his three children participated in growing up. He also played over 40 soccer until 2007 and was also a founding member of Grove United Soccer Association in Buffalo Grove, IL.Terry founded CHAMPION Now!(R) with the vision of changing perceptions of manufacturing careers, in hopes of assisting to solve the skills gap crisis in this country.
