Teresa PhelanBorn on Vancouver Island, and raised in northern central B.C., Teresa Phelan grew up in the bush. A voracious reader, she began writing very early, inspired by authors like J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Louisa May Alcott, moving on to the likes of tephen King, Harper Lee, and Louise Penny. As a forty-year-old single mother of four, she earned two degrees: an associate degree in Aboriginal Social Work and a master's degree in Professional Communication.
