Teiji NishioDr. Teiji Nishio is Professor and Director of the Medical Physics Laboratory, Division of Health Science, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University, Osaka, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Science from the Department of Physics, Graduate School ofScience, Rikkyo University for his research in nuclear astrophysics. He also received his Ph.D. in Medicine from the Department of Biophysics and Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo for his research in medical physics. So far, he has been working on research and development of proton therapy, especially, Beam On-Line PET system, which visualize the proton irradiation area, at the National Cancer Center Japan. He is currently engaged in research and education on X-ray therapy, proton therapy, and heavy particle therapy in the Medical Physics Laboratory at Osaka University.
