Ted GardnerAdjunct Professor Ted Gardner holds adjunct appointments at Victoria University, Melbourne and at a number of Australian regional universities. He chairs the technical advisory committee of the Australian Water Association's e-Water journal. Prior tohis retirement in 2010, Ted was Principal Research Scientist, Integrated Urban Water Systems, CSIRO, where he led research projects into decentralised water technologies and stormwater harvesting and reuse in South East Queensland. He was also the Principal Scientist with the Queensland Department of Environment and Resource Management, leading the Urban Water Cycle group which focused on urban water sustainability. In 2005, Ted was awarded the Australia Day Award Public Service Medal for his work on water recycling and urban water supply. In 2014, he was award the biennial McLean-Idema award from Irrigation Australia for his career work on irrigation using recycled water. He has an extensive publication record including over 200 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, 4 book chapters, co-editor of a scientific monograph on purified recycled water, and an IWA book on rainwater systems, and has made numerous presentations to technical and community groups.
