Sylvia SwansonSylvia was born in Illinois and spent summers in Wisconsin where she met her husband. They have two grown children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sylvia uses her life experience of working through her own tough life challenges to reachout to others who are struggling. She did this through teaching high school (she was teacher of the year twice), working with people in crisis, being a Guardian Ad Litem for five years, helping with equestrian therapy classes, and walking beside women going through cancer. Sylvia and her husband had the opportunity to live in England for three years while her husband taught at a downtown London university. They took that opportunity to travel to many different countries experiencing different cultures. That experience confirmed for Sylvia the importance of welcoming change, valuing diversity, and discovering the common denominators in our humanity. Her own cancer experience was in 2014 and this is when she learned that cancer recovery isn't just about feeling broken, but about being broken open to inner healing beyond cancer. Grateful for the benefit of a cancer support group, she now writes bimonthly blog articles for their website to offer support and encouragement. This book is a collection of those articles because they not only apply to people with cancer but anyone interested in making the most of life's challenges by listening to life. For Sylvia writing from the heart is the key to connecting to the world around us, so this is from her heart to yours. Read More Read Less
