Syed Salman AshrafProf. Syed Salman Ashraf is a Professor of Biology at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Salman received his BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from Iowa State University and a doctorate from North Carolina State University. He has wored in biotech companies in Toronto (Canada) and North Carolina (US) for over 6 years in drug discovery, molecular biology, protein purification, and high-throughput screening. He also has over 15 years of academic experience as a research-active faculty member in chemistry and biochemistry. Prior to joining Khalifa University, he was a Professor of Biochemistry at UAE University in Al Ain. Prof. Salman's current research interests are environmental remediation, applied biotechnology, and protein structure and function with specific interests in exploiting novel bacterial isolates and peroxidase enzymes to degrade and detoxify emerging environmental pollutants.
