Susie Carson RijnhartSusanna Carson Rijnhart (1868-1908) fue una doctora canadiense conocida por haber sido la segunda mujer occidental en visitar el Tíbet.En 1894 conoce a su primer marido, Petrus Rijnhart, y en el mismo año parte hacia el Tíbet siguiendo su vocación miionera. Pasará los siguientes cuatro años subsistiendo en el país asiático con pocos recursos. En su intento de viajar a Lhasa, ella y su marido son asaltados por ladrones. Petrus Rijnhart desaparece y, tras perder sus pertenencias, Susie emprende la huida en solitario hacia China.Publicó este título en 1901 y contrajo matrimonio en 1905 con James Moyes. Posteriormente volvería a China para continuar con el trabajo misionero. Regresaría a Canadá en 1907, donde falleció en 1908 poco después de dar a luz su segundo hijo. Read More Read Less
