I have worked in healthcare since 1996 and am currently a radiology administrator for an academic health system in Kansas City, Kansas.My husband, our tw teenagers and I live on a small farm and raise Belted Galloway cattle (Oreo cows) and chickens. We hope to expand our family soon through the adoption of two teenage boys. I also teach Quality Improvement as an adjunct for Washburn University in Topeka.I love the Midwestern work ethic and kindness. Like my character, Grace, I try to see the good in people, even when it isn't there. Having been a scammer's intended, but (thank God)unsuccessful target myself, I have done extensive research about internet romance scams, in particular those involving West African young men and have spoken to people involved. It's an unfortunate situation for both victim and scammer but a wealth of potential for fiction writers. The books I have found about online romance scam have all been nonfiction, either personal experience or how to protect yourself. I hope through fiction, the reader will get both an education and a great story.I am currently working my next book about a Scottish Belted Galloway cattle farm and the woefully inexperienced American IT analyst who was gifted it by his aunt.
