Susan Cambigue TraceySusan Cambigue Tracey is a dancer, arts administrator, nationally recognized educator, and a certified yoga instructor. She has written books and produced a documentary film about one of her many passions, namely, Chair Yoga. She graduated from UCLA ith credentials in dance and physical education and became a dance therapist. Her legendary mentor, Bella Lewitsky, assigned Susan a pioneering role with the National Artists-in-Schools Project. For fifteen years she traveled across the U.S. as a Dance Movement Specialist for the National Endowment for the Arts. She founded and directed the Free Flight Improvisational Dance Company that performed in schools and in aesthetic spaces, with their program called Viewing Art through a Dancer's Eye. Susan has been on faculty at Loyola Marymount University, and was Chair for the California Dance Educators Association as well as for the California Alliance for Arts Education. For 25 years, she held the position of Director of Curriculum and Teaching Artist Development for The Music Center of Los Angeles County, where she continues part-time. Susan's life of words, in particular poetry, has caught up with her life in motion and the synergy has Susan creating hybrid pieces such as this book. She continues to refine her skills and sometimes redefine her life. Although poetry and movement are her passions, her first loves are her husband, and often collaborator of 40 years, Paul Tracey, and an adored family of children and grandchildren living in America and Europe - all depicted in her poetry collection, EMERGENCE.
