Steve NgoProfessor Steve Ngo MCIArb is a practitioner of international arbitration and dispute resolution where he has acted as international consultant and arbitrator. Professor Ngo has advised public and private entities not only on post-dispute matters butnegotiation, mediation and dispute management. Over the past decade, he has focused on Indonesia and China, the two key growth economies of Asia and South East Asia. He has been involved in oil and gas, energy, investment, joint venture, telecommunications, shipping, mining, financial services, international trade and engineering. Professor Ngo has extensive experience dealing with parties from all over the world, bringing strong cross-cultural proficiency to international dispute resolution processes and strategizing. Professor Ngo has been involved in matters involving arbitration rules of, among others, CIETAC, LMAA, SAC, ICC, SIAC, PCA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, HKIAC, BANI and KLRCA. In addition to international commercial arbitration, he has been consulted on potential investor-state arbitrations, evaluating cases against and for the state party. He also has vast experience in design and delivery of arbitration professional training programmes and postgraduate courses throughout Asia. With previous professional experience in the higher education sector, Professor Ngo has special interest in the pedagogy and methodology of education. In addition to lectures and talks at academic institutions in the region, he has also lectured on dispute resolution at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Indonesia, Guangxi Lawyers' Association, Singapore Law Society, Malaysian Bar Council, Taipei Bar Association and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, The Hague. Professor Ngo has been appointed to positions at a number of universities, including Honorary Professor of Law, National Law University, Delhi; Part-time Professor at the School of Law, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Nanning; Guest Professor at the East China University of Politics and Law, Shanghai; and Foundation Professor in International Arbitration, Saint Martin's School of Law, Malta.
