Stephen CliffeAfter an early career on northern newspapers, Stephen developed an interest in local history and archaeology, being present at all stages of the Jorvik Viking archaeological excavations in York for his newspaper and at many other digs, from Roman to arly industrial. He later directed local historical and environmental research projects and has edited and published his own magazine on local history for many years.
